Easter Special -Minister Anoop Jacob and actor Jagathy Sreekumar
It was a special Easter for Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob and actor Jagathy Sreekumar on Sunday. The Minister, accompanied by his family comprising mother Daisy Jacob, wife Anila, sister Ambili and aunt Eliamma Mathew, paid a visit to the actor at his house and spent some time with him shedding all formalities.
The visit echoed the memories of a friendship which sprouted several years ago between Anoop’s father T M Jacob and Sreekumar during their vibrant days at Mar Ivanios College here. Even though Jacob turned a busy politician and Jagathy chose the path of films, the friendship had remained intact.
The Minister reminisced how his father and his dear friend Jagathy were so keen either to meet or talk over phone on every Easter day. The actor, who survived a near-fatal accident last year, on hearing this, wore a pleasant smile on his lips. The family members of Jagathy also stood witness to the cherished moments.
Jagathy keenly lent an ear to the memories shared by Anoop and Daisy on Anoop’s appearance in the movie ‘Ambili Ammavan’ as a child artist and the art competitions during the glorious college days. They gifted Jagathy with an Easter cake. When the Minister and family left Jagathy’s house promising him that they would come again, that smile did not fade from the actor’s face.
